Last weekend, Scott and I ventured over to one of our favorite spots in Midtown called Kaisers Diner. It’s a Danny Zuko-approved old-fashioned diner appropriately decorated and complete with a jukebox and soda fountain (ala The Frosty Palace). Their milkshakes are homemade and we’ve found that they are best enjoyed while swiveling around on the glitter barstools.

Carbs and calories aside, if you haven’t heard of Mara Hoffman before, prepare to fall in love. Well, if you’re into bright prints and psychedelic patterns, that is. I always look forward to her collections.

When I do wear prints like this, which is quite often, a lot of my friends will say, “I could never pull a pattern like this off!” and I always disagree. It’s all in how you accessorize! Most of the shoes in my closet are nude or black for this very reason. So next time you see a printed piece you love, instead of talking yourself out of it, get it! Just remember to keep everything else neutral and minimal – from your accessories to your makeup.
