Valentine’s Day has always been a favorite holiday of mine. The flowers, the boxes of chocolates, the sweet gestures of love from those you love – it’s just a happy and joyful day all around. The year, Scott and I will be spending our twelfth Valentine’s Day together. Twelve years! Looking back on our life together thus far, I would’ve never imagined we’d be where we are now with three beautiful little babies living our best lives in Suburbia. Scott and I have always been complete opposites but it’s somehow always worked to our advantage. I’ve always loved that saying “You keep me safe, I’ll keep you wild” because I feel like it so accurately sums up our relationship. I’m always pushing him to take risks and try new things, and he’s always there to calm me down when I get overwhelmed or stop me in my tracks whenever I start to doubt myself. I love him so much for that.
Since we’ll be celebrating our actual Valentine’s Day at home this year with our little ones, we decided to sneak out of the house for a few hours last weekend and relax together at a cute new spot in the city called Bar Arbolada. We had the entire place to ourselves and probably spent three hours there talking about life, our babies and trying to guess who was singing the songs on the radio. It was a good time.
I wore my cute new Valentine’s Day goodies from James Avery there too! You know how much I love James Avery for meaningful gifts and the ones we picked out this year are just that. I fell in love with this delicate heart shaped bracelet which, to me, signifies the foundation of love Scott and I have built for each other and our kids. If there’s one thing we’re incredibly proud of, it’s all three of our babies and our ability to raise them in a home full of hugs and kisses and endless positive affirmations. I also chose these delicate forged rings in two different sizes – one set to fit as regular rings and another to fit as midi rings. My wedding ring is really the only silver piece of jewelry I own so I knew that I wanted to get these in silver as a way to compliment (not compete with) my favorite accessory of all time.
Sending you and yours all the love and happiness this Valentine’s Day!
