DIY Swirled-Paint Christmas Ornaments

Whether you’re looking for a fun craft to do with your kids or a simple + thoughtful gift to give family and friends, these do-it-yourself swirled ornaments are it! Seriously, this has to be one of my favorite crafts of all time. Not only are they super easy to make, but the end result is incredible! My kids had a blast making them and I was so impressed with their final creations as they were. They were so proud of themselves and that makes it all worth it.

What you’ll need:
–  plastic or glass ornaments
– acrylic paints
– ribbons or string
How to do it:
– add about a tablespoon of paint into each ornament.
– cover the top and shake, shake, shake!
– let them dry out for a bit in their container.
– add caps and tie on some fun ribbon or string!

Honestly, there’s no right or wrong way to do this as long as you’re having fun! I let the kids mix and match whatever paints they wanted in their ornaments. My only rule was that they could use no more than 3 paints per ornament. No one wants a grey-brown ornament, right? Ha! We also tried to make a few ornaments with glitter, but it didn’t have the effect we were going for. The glitter gets covered by the paint and, well, it just kind of disappears. We also made an ornament with a mixture of different glitter, but when we shook it, all the glitter came out of the top. Whoops! So if you use glitter, be sure you add glue or something on the inside of the top to keep it all inside.
